AFRIKFEST
MISSION
AfrikFest is a community-based, socio-cultural organization working for cohesion of cultural heritage among African communities in the U.S., Africa and around the world. Created by a few members of African community in Las Vegas, Nevada, the name “AfrikFest Las Vegas” (meaning African Festival in Las Vegas) was chosen by the committee. The AfrikFest Las Vegas is designed to recreate the cultural values among the peoples of Africa, to establish those values in the minds of our new generations residing outside the continent of Africa. AfrikFest Las Vegas is determined to showcase and promote some of our cultural heritage, aiming to be an annual fiesta that highlights the rich culture of the continent through our platform. Our ambition is to improve community cohesion and create business opportunities between the state of Nevada and other visiting state authorities. We will use the opportunity to give out awards (in conjunction with Las Vegas authorities), to deserving African leaders who have contributed to human development and capacity building over the past two years. Again, this festival will be celebrated annually, with the first quarter of the year designated for proper planning and execution.
OUR MISSION
The aim of AfrikFest Las Vegas is to celebrate the shared culture, and heritage of the African community with pride and passion, while promoting community cohesion and integration of the community and peoples of Africa in Las Vegas.
GOALS
To reach out to enterprising political persons and recognize them for their impact in developing their constituencies.
To get businesses and individuals to participate as vendors and showcase their authentic African business prowess through their products and services.
